Reunion Tower Observation Deck Completes $15M Renovation

DALLAS — After six months of extensive renovations, Reunion Tower's GeoDeck observation deck officially reopened to the public Monday morning, featuring state-of-the-art floor-to-ceiling windows and enhanced viewing experiences that promise to transform how visitors see the Dallas skyline.

The $15 million renovation project replaced the tower's original glass panels with specialized high-clarity glass designed to reduce glare and provide unobstructed 360-degree views of the city. The upgrade also includes new interactive displays highlighting Dallas landmarks visible from the 470-foot-high observation level.

"This renovation represents our commitment to maintaining Reunion Tower as Dallas's premier destination for both tourists and locals," said Maria Rodriguez, General Manager of Reunion Tower. "The new glass technology eliminates the distortion issues visitors sometimes experienced with our previous windows, giving everyone crystal-clear views of everything from Downtown to Deep Ellum."

The renovation addressed longstanding concerns about window clarity that had affected photo opportunities and overall visitor experience. The specialized glass installation required coordination with multiple contractors and weather-dependent scheduling that extended the project timeline by several weeks.

Local photography enthusiast James Mitchell, who frequently visits the observation deck to capture sunset shots of the Dallas skyline, praised the improvements during Monday's reopening. "The difference is remarkable," Mitchell said. "You can now clearly see details in Klyde Warren Park and even make out individual buildings in the Arts District that were previously obscured by glare."

The glass replacement project utilized the same high-grade materials found in modern skyscrapers throughout the city. Similar specialized glass installations have become increasingly popular in Dallas's construction boom, with applications ranging from luxury high-rises in Uptown to commercial buildings along the Stemmons Corridor. Admission prices remain unchanged at $22 for adults and $16 for children, with Dallas residents receiving a 20% discount with valid identification. The observation deck operates daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with extended hours during special events and holidays.

The renovation marks the most significant upgrade to the observation deck since 2013, when digital displays and interactive exhibits were first installed to enhance the visitor experience.
